My guess is that the power company wanting to put up these towers receives some sort of government subsidy or tax break from some level (federal, state, or local) along the way. I know wind towers are a no no since they receive subsidies, and I don't really see much difference with the electrical transmission towers taking up good farmland and giving you an unfair competitive advantage in your farm community with your windfall $$ on the backs of good tax paying citizens.
This doesn't even take into account the hardship all of your neighbors will now have to endure from having to look at these ugly monstrosities and ruining their beautiful views of the country side! These kind of projects just have to stop! ********* | |
