NW IA | Oats here looked like the best ever, and then turned into a bit of a fiasco.
I usually have the neighbor swath when dead ripe and follow with the combine the same day. This year I had a few lambsquarters scattered through the field and decided to let them lay over the weekend with a clear forecast. Then the wheels came off.
Swathed the field on July 25 and had to rake them on August 1. Combined ahead of a rain at 15% moisture. Figure we had to go or lose 'em.
