| My elderly mother was on the do not call list, she would get "spoof" calls, using other peoples phone numbers continuously, called the phone company a few times on it, as it was every 15 min. sometimes, and several times a night sometimes. The phone company did something that helped a little, but the only way to do much good was to disconnect or silence the phone at night, get her to check caller ID before she answered in the daytime. The worst were medicare insurance companies late in the year. They would transfer you to their people after the spoof call, to protect their number/name, and hang up immediately when they realized you didn't want to buy from them. | |
