Southern Indiana
I would think you would be glad to have the fiber. Maybe you already have it from another provider. They will fix your lines and if you have any idea where they are and a little communication they will likely try to locate them with a hydrovac. Personally I would be dang glad they are putting it in the ground. Here we are littered with old electric poles that have been relocated or replaced with the top cut off because the phone company won’t come through and rehang their line on the new poles. I can drive 2 or 3 miles and there are at least a dozen broken poles hanging out over the road that are only being held up by the lashing cable. No one will ever show up to fix it. Indiana is working on some legislation to try to get it cleaned up. My day job is running street and utilities for a small town and it’s terrible in town. I can call and call police and fire do the same and the only way they show up is if you cut the line in 2. I’ve seen them move then line to the new poles and leave the old broken pole to fully fall later.
