Washington Co Ks
In Kansas, the county gives the utility companies the right to bury cable in Township road rights-of-way. Our telephone company is in the process of burying fiber optic now. We have a water line that crosses the road in front of our house. It isn't listed anywhere, and the cable co, wasn't aware it was there. I didn't know exactly where it was after 53 years. they dug a trench with an excavator, looking for different color dirt, but couldn't find it. I figured the water line was 40 to 45 inches deep. They were burying cable 48 Inches deep, so he just raised the plow up to 30 inches and went through the area where I was pretty sure the line was located, then dropped back down.
