East Central Arkansas
The house has had a steel roof on it since 2009. We tore the shingles off and used 1x4 for lathing over the center match roof decking. Pretty sure we covered the decking with felt before nailing the lathing down.
The extra depth and snug fit of new insulation, especially blown in the eve area was a concern. The original insulation was like 4 inch so was lower than the ceiling joist. Most of the second layer put in years later didn't fit up tight in that eve area.
Over the years the house has had a good bit of shade from trees but the ones providing the most have been cut.
