Get licensed, get contracted with a company after securing adequate E&O insurance, hang a shingle on an office and he’s in business looking for his first customer. Which will be a struggle, as you yourself stated you’ve been with the same agent for years and years. Will you leave him for your buddy, who has zero experience as an agent?
