John interesting thoughts...seed,chemical and machinery companies benefited . We did/do too but more of a rat race to keep ahead of rising costs.

Often think farm safety nets/ad hoc payments that the majority of the $$ goes to those who really don't need it ....The new farmers,smaller ones don't get much

The big fish just keep eating the little fish . First its guy with xxx acres and xxx livestock can't make it, then its XXXX acres and XXXX livestock farms in trouble..and it continues....machinery , land costs,inputs keep making margins smaller
