Western Oregon | All the old wood silos have been gone for years around here. Dad used boards from an old vertical cedar silo as rafters on a lean-to shed on the old barn, 26' clear cedar. They sold the farm in 1980 and the buyer was going to push the old barn in. I got them and built an 8'x16' tall silo next to my old barn restoration. Takes a lot of 2"x6" boards to make an 8' circle. I wish I had seen that picture for a roof pattern. Mine looks pretty plain compared to that. More like a gazebo roof. I had never seen a roof on an old wood silo, back then. My barn was built in 1926. As far as I know, there was never a silo but it was built as a dairy barn. 6 to a side....James
