Subject: RE: Is it time for more antitrust?

Nash County, NC
The government has broken up big companies before. It wouldn’t be the first time a monopoly has been forced to split.

I am all for free markets but I am frustrated that every time the futures market ticks up, all the inputs go up and work to keep the farmer’s margin at roughly the same place it was before. I am all for John Deere, Bayer, Basf, whoever making a profit. The only true check and balance is competition.

I realize cotton is a crop many of you don’t grow or care about, but let it be a case study of what could happen when there isn’t enough competition.
