Nash County, NC | John Deere is currently the only manufacturer of a cotton picker in the us.
There are only 3 companies marketing cotton seed to producers for planting and all the genetics/traits come from Bayer.
I would personally like to see more competition in those two areas.
20% of the production cost in cotton is the seed.
Due to lack of competition, the inputs are priced from $1 cotton and cotton is trading less than $.70 | |
