When I was a kid 200 acres was working farm, 1000 acres was crazy. Farmers owned their land base, maybe rented 25% extra.
Now a 1000 acre farm hardly counts as a real farm any more, and you better be looking to rent another 2000+ to make it worthwhile for now. The 10-20,000 acre farms are the goal….
How can you tell a coop/ ag business to stay small in that environment?
