Most common around here is the landowner supplies the land and the operator supplies everything else including fertilizer. It’s then split 70/30 operator getting the 70%.
Also some deals like Dennis explained also. Up until 2012 there was a lot of smaller fields you could get for nothing “just to clean it up” but that’s pretty much unheard of now.
