Holly Hill, SC | I am having trouble with Italian Rye grass. To kill existing rye grass in the late winter/spring the only thing that gets close to killing it is gramoxone, RU power max 3, and Clethodim blended with fertilizer and surfactant. Not sure how much the Clethodim helps on this blend but I think the surfactant in the Ru is helping the Gramoxone. My test showed this as the best. On almost mature rye grass a heavy Clethodim/MSO blend with limited success.
We have a long germination window but as far as residual herbicides dual, Valor and anthem flex are going to be our best options.
