The first "Cat" and New Holland were probably closer to 100hp to the ground than 200hp. There is likely too much parasitic loss on tracks vs tires to market low HP.
I think you have it backwards. The crawler tractor would do the same work here as a wheel tractor with double the hp. We had 150 hp Cats pulling the same load as our 300 hp CaseIH wheel tractors.
