Chebanse, IL.....

Is there anyone that doesn't know that ss fasteners need some kind of lube?

One problem with a reply here about "just let the non-ss nuts rust..won't hurt". Well, they stain the heck out of everything when rusting. Some don't care, I understand. Some do.

It takes a LOT of luck to put ss fasteners together with an impact. But, once again, if you look at this situation which has ss studs imbedded in a plastic housing, you would/should realize that any impact is not a good choice.

Finally, I have never-ever-ever had a ss nut rust to a ss bolt/stud. Never. Never had a ss nut rust. Never had ss bolt rust.

My JB pump now has ss serrated flange nuts on the ss studs. None galled. 3/8" hand-operated ratchet utilized.
