I wouldn't be overly worried about the strength. I would however use jb weld to fill the area and polish it down. The reason I suggest this is I have removed more than one bearing from combines that were previously knicked, and bearing reinstalled with no weld or jb weld to fill. I've seen that void area begin to rust and rust jack the new bearing race to the point of cracking and failing it.


I would do this as well. In addition I would file or grind out the nick so the sharp edges don't start a stress crack.
