SW OH | So 3 weeks ago I was trimming trees with our Bobsaw. I was cleaning up and dumping the last bunch of limbs when it labored down to a stop in a matter of 2 seconds. My first thought was, oh no, the belt. I just had it in the shop the day before doing an oil change and cylinder rebuild. I thought to myself I probably should change the timing belt. It's not been that many hours, but it's been a few years. I just looked it up and it's been a little over 1,500 hours but 18 years. My how time flies.
It didn't break the belt but it chewed the cogs off. I knew it was an interference engine. It bent 6 push rods. Every rocker arm hold down was loose as well. I took several of the bolts out with my fingers. I've never been in the top of this engine, only the bottom. It's supposed to rain for the next week so I guess I'll have time to work on it. Anybody know the valve lash and rocker arm torque settings?
