Southern MN | I know I would never switchback. We have the factory knock on style and yes every year a few fall off. For a while CIH did have some where the rubber grips would fall off but current field cultivator hasn’t been a problem. A couple times a year hitting a rock May knock some shovels off also. We are pretty fussy about field cultivator depth so every hour or 2 we stop and do a complete walk around. Check the leveler/basket bolts and check the sweeps to make sure there is not any old metal stuck to the point and if they are wearing. I know I am a lot more apt to change a shovel when I can just walk to the rock box and grab a hammer and shovel rather than an impact, vise grip if head is worn, bolts and washers. Usually grab a few shovels and hammer when I get out of the cab and if I don’t use them throw them back in the rock box when I get back in the cab. | |
