Subject: Why did John Blue use these?

Chebanse, IL.....

2 yr old John Blue poly pump mounted under a tanker for hauling UAN or water.

Had a leaking o-ring behind the entry plate. JB had used stainless studs. That was good! But, why did they use non-ss serrated flange nuts? They are obviously quickly becoming junk (1st photo).

2nd photo shows the ss nuts I used after replacing o-ring.

On the same subject, I think JB makes a good pump/motor combo. Works great for UAN pumping. But, as most know, UAN is pretty corrosive. Why doesn't JB "offer" a stainless base plate for the pump/motor? I can see that in a few years I'll have to replace the mild steel base plate. As of now, it's staining the rest of the ss of the compartment interior. If JB gave us the ss option, I would have bought it. I'm sure many others that deal with UAN would buy it also. Perhaps someone from JB reads here. Consider the suggestion. Yes, I tried to get the suggestion to JB via our dealer, then his rep. Not sure there was any reaction.
