Usually associated with wetter silage when harvested.
Butyric acid forms when wet feeds are fermented.
Grab some and smell it, it will have a strong smell that Hangs on your hand or clothes for a long time.
Dairy cows fed high butyric acid feed will drop their DMI and milk production at significantly.
