Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | Small Crop - 4/2/2025 09:55 This past weekend while climbing out of the tractor my wedding ring got caught on the door latch striker, it caused me to lose my balance and fall out of the tractor. The caught ring cut my finger off. The Dr. decided my best option was to amputate the finger to the 1st knuckle. I am doing good and in good spirits. I just want to help other and hope people can learn from my accident.
A wedding ring is something a farmer wears about 3 times a year when he goes out amongst 'em, not a daily deal. It can be a $10,000 diamond sparkler or a plain gold band, means the same, and it only leaves the house when there's not work to be done.
p.s. I'm really really glad your injuries weren't worse. I've seen about 3 too many ring injuries to last me the rest of my life.
