| Of course, but my point is this:
If I go to the TM200 Operator's Manual that came with our 32-1/2' machine, it shows the main tires to have an inflation pressure of 90 psi. It does not give ANY CONSIDERATION TO MACHINE SIZE, which ultimately determines how much weight the tires will need to carry. Tires on a smaller machine do not need the maximum inflation pressure to carry the weight.
Running the maximum air pressure under a lighter load will drastically shorten tire life. We have a neighbor that runs a 28' TM200. They ran the very same Carlisle tires at the OM's 90 psi setting only to have them fall apart within the first three-years. Pretty much what happened, is that the whole weight of their machine was being carried entirely on the center ribs of those tires instead of the weight being distributed out evenly over the width of the tread. We advised them to lower air pressures, and their tire life has greatly improved.
Now, I fully understand that there is a lot of "good" information in the OM, but do not take everything it says to be the gospel.
