Was always kind of wondering if anybody would ever see that in the pics.
I started sandblasting in 1992 to help fund the farm habit.
I started blasting with a sandstorm pot and decided early on I didn't want to hold down a Deadman switch while blasting. But yes that ball valve on the end works great it needs to either be fully closed or fully opened,,, also when you close the valve the way I have it set up the blast hose can load up with sand in a couple minutes,,,, but normally you only close the valve or hold down a Deadman switch for 15 seconds or less because you're repositioning either apart or yourself. If you only partially close the the ball valve,,,, to feather the sand/air volume down it'll blast the ball out of that ball valve in minutes. Quite a few years ago I bought a new clemco pot and eliminated the dead man switch on it also. If you have employees I wouldn't recommend running without a Deadman switch,,, I work alone. There are plenty of other things that can be modified to create a blaster that runs wide open without restriction and moisture problems. | |
