Faunsdale, AL | Two terminals and 3 wires………..I got nothing. 4 wires….yes. Are you willing to open it up and look to see what’s connected to the back side of those studs?
It’s reversible, it just depends on how far you have to get into it to find all the leads you need.
Basically you have two windings with a start and a finish each, so 4 leads. One winding will almost always have a start cap in series with it and may also have a run cap. The other two leads connect to the main winding.
To reverse the motor you change the “start” and “finish” leads of the start winding in relation to the start and finish of the run winding. So if start to start and finish to finish gives you clockwise then start to finish and finish to start will give you counter clockwise. Of course they use numbers or colors instead of “start” and “finish”!
