Subject: RE: Seeking Advice for Starting a Corn Farm

Learn what it means to buy retail and sell wholesale. Learn cost of productions. Talk to people that are 70-80. Some will help you. 30 year old friend -neighbor doesn’t want you to have what he wants. Work with or watch several farms on how they do it. It’s a tough game. But it’s possible. I have a friend that started with 0 in 2012 and farms several thousand acres now. He will tell you it’s work. Also surround your self with successful people. Nay sayers and negative energy will only detour you from doing what you want. If you hear you can’t do that. Walk away from that person. Sometimes you can’t. But sometimes you can. If you are good at anything that provides a service that helps an older farmer. That’s a plus. Drone fungicide spraying or custom machine work are avenues to build relationships to get you access to acres or work. Good luck. Read story about Taylor Sheridan Yellowstone series producer or Young farmer Gavin Spoor for inspiration!!
