Subject: RE: Machinery Operating Costs

Crossroad of flood and drought
I hire some trucking during harvest when my time is very valuable.

Rest of the time I haul when I have time. I’m lucky I guess the terminals I haul to are usually open till 9 or 11PM and open at 5 or 7 AM. Current semi I’ve had 4 seasons. Cost 32K when I bought it. So that’s like $160K saved vs hired. So $128K over 4 years. $32K a year labor to me just for trucking.

Pretty good pay for doing something in my spare time
