scmn | https://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=428369&mid=3426811 Back in 2013 ahay68979 figured $2.00-2.50 per bale for repairs out of warranty; not much has changed on balers since 2013 other than parts now cost 2X what they did then.
Break a belt, throw a few teeth in, replace a couple chains, a sprocket every now and then, add a couple tire repairs, etc. Get some bales on it and break a roller for $1000+labor or have pickup rebuilt for $4-6000 takes a few bales to get $/bale down. While individually most round baler parts are not all that expensive, having multiples of just about everything does add up quickly and being multiples of everything means more time to repair. If you labor for repairs is not worth anything, I welcome you to rebuild my pickup for free this winter; it is almost overdue. |
