Partially burying residue shallow gets dicey for good seed to soil contact. Full till, no-till and strip till work better. Most no-till benefits fly out the window when screwing with the top 2 inches of soil. Destroys fungi network, soil aggregates, infiltration structures, etc.

Destroys the fungi network? Where'd it go?


Take a PLFA soil test on the full tillage field and then pull a sample from an area like a fence row that has been undisturbed for 50 years and you will see a drastic difference.


My fence rows don’t produce many soybeans
