If it was me I'd skip the funk/deere powershifts.
To me they are outdated and more expensive to work on.
The mid range Massey Agco Challenger, were some of the best built. Esp the one piece hoods, 08-12 yrs.
Just jump to the CVT.
Easier to work on, plus just drop a whole unit in and go if you want
Edit- Especially once they dropped the crappy euro Cummins and put the Sisu in.
Care to elaborate on the Cummins, which tractors have them, what are then issues and how do you tell which one is in the tractor?

Cummins never stocked parts for them either. Honestly, they aren't BAD engines, but they aren't the Sisu/AGCO-Power engine. I'd rather have a Euro Cummins than a Tier 3 Perkins/Caterpillar in the Massey's. The Perkins you can buy parts, but every single Tier 3 unit we've sold has needed at least 1 set of injectors before 2000 hours, you need a special procedure to adjust valves, and if you don't, then a valve WILL hit a piston, and the fuel system is just a complicated mess. At least the Cummins we used was still mechanical.
I have worked on a couple Cummins, and while it was a bit of a nightmare, between Cummins and CNH I've always found enough parts to keep them running.
