NW Iowa | We had two re-occurring problems. One was with the internal slip clutches sometimes wouldn't give and break the main shaft inside. We found the gearboxes difficult to repair. The 2nd problem was with the splined shafts On top of the gearbox that the gathering chain drive sprocket is on. The shaft is splined to drive the gathering chain sprocket, and the shaft is drilled out and threaded internally to hold the sprocket on with a short bolt. So basically the end of this drive shaft is just a pipe and can too easily twist off if something wants to stop the gathering chain.
These i believe were 2007 models. Maybe there have been updates since, I can't speak to that at all | |
