Pisgah | We had a 4412 20” chopping corn head for 5 years. We put countless new gearboxes on that thing. The ones that run the chopper would run so hot it would boil the oil out. We had to check the oil in every gear box every day. We ended up with 3 different ones for about $6000 each. When a gathering chain would come off it would wrap around the top shaft and break it off. All the parts were unique to the 20” head also. Spent $40000 in parts and labor in 12000 acres of use and did a good share of the labor ourselves. | |
