| In one of my first years farming, I had an experienced farmer suggest I buy some corn with only the RR2 trait to save on seed cost.
The farm this corn was planted in lies right across the road from an organic farm. That year, the dollar amount in corn borer damage far outweighed the savings in seed. I've been scared to go back ever since.
Hindsight 20/20, I'm not too worried about getting my weeds under control without glyphosate. I just don't know if including insecticide in my 3 passes (pre, post, fung) will be enough to keep the bugs at bay in HEAVY organic country. | |
