It’s a money thing. They like the tech fee


It’s a volume thing. Companies want larger piles of the same hybrids when possible. I’ve been told that 3 times by 3 completely different companies. They wanna sell 20,000 bags each of 2 hybrids. Not 5000 of 8. Especially in a trait ( or lack there of) that seems to be very market and premium dependent.
Plus, if you just a price shopper and order 500 bags of non gmo and they come up short on an order most guys won’t care if ya bring em some more expensive traited corn as long as it’s for the same price as the non gmo and a comparible (or sometimes same) hybrid.

But if you want gmo corn for the roundup spray, they can’t bring ya non gmo when they run short.

I’ve seen that before, especially in replant situation when the grower isn’t going for a premium market.
