NW Wisconsin
I weaned mine on saturday and sunday at it is thursday now the cows are done looking for them and the calves are done hollering. For me the biggest way to reduce calving stress has been to creep feed. Once they got on that and start eating 5 lbs or so once you wean they just eat more of that and I supplelement with dry hay. I wean by calender. Start calving may 1 and end up in the end of june. SO most of the calves are 4-5 months old at weaning. When I first started I went from milk and grass to all grass and that really sets them back. Little bit of creep does wonders.
