My dear f-i-l was the absolute most risk-averse person who ever walked the face of the earth. We built a new house in 1974. The stupidest, most fiscally irresponsible, ignorant, dumbest, ....did I mention stupidest? thing anyone could ever do. Never mind that he'd built a new home in 1950....that was different. Twenty years later.................that was really a great decision, that house is gonna be a really good investment for you guys going forward.
