Are you actually N deficient at V5 with 80# already down, or do you simply have such a stagnated root system that the plants can't make use of it?   Because it wouldn't have absorbed that much yet anyway.   Can't speak to your soil types and climate, or see whether you are dealing with a good stand of corn that is just stunted or one that has huge holes in it that have no chance.  

Looks like you would have been planning to come back and split apply regardless though, so that's a little different than if you came here and said there was 150-180# already on and you thought additional nitrogen would be the savior.
