Amway use to sell a product that was suppose to make "water wetter". They had a dealer network similar to "Mary Kay" products. Guy we went church with was a dealer. After a heavy rain we would get a large pond, acre or so, by our shed. After one heavy rain he brought some up wanting me to try it. Claimed if I spread it over the water it would allow the water to soak into the ground quicker, eliminating the pending., I told him to try it & if it worked I uy it. He waded around through the water in shorts dumping several gals of the stuff. Wind came up & it looked like a large bubble bath. Needless to say I didn't buy any & he ne er tried selling me any again. FWIW, grid tile solved the po ding problem, though be it, a little more expensive.
