Subject: RE: Corn Drought Tolerance Compared To Milo Question

We haven't grown milo for 4 or 5 years now, but when it is very dry and milo is ready to head out and flower, it can just stand there and wait for rain. To my knowledge, corn can't really wait. When it is time to tassle ,it tries to tassel. When it is time for silks, it either produces a silk or it doesn't. And once the niche is missed, there is no 2nd chance. Corn genetics have improved tremendously, but I don't believe it can wait for rain like milo can.
