If you have poorly drained soils or very sandy soil the answer is yes. If you want to limit mother natures negative impact to your crop yes, if you want to consistently raise high yield on less n yes, If you want to add in other nutrients at the appropriate time in a plants life yes. If you want easy, probably not yes.
