Some years ago, before Gly tolerant corn hybrids , I had a spot of barnyard grass in a silage corn field that my at planting residual herbicide did poorly in preventing growth of it. It was suggested by someone knowledgeable to spot spray by hand, a strong solution of atrazine on the fast-growing-and-getting-tall barnyard grass. Atrazine would not harm the corn (probably nearing knee-high). Atrazine killed the BYGrass
