This was going to be my recommendation. Often times we leave the soil too loose and the rear wheel spreads the pressure too wide, thus not firming up the seed trench around the seed. The V Close wheel kit allows the Twister wheels to apply firming pressure directly around the seed. I typically see this more in no till or min till vs. conventional tillage.

Another poster mentioned tillage previous to planting. This absolutely might be a culprit as well depending on your conditions. In a min-till circumstance it could be that you have uneven moisture levels in your soil and if your not applying enough pressure directly around the seed then uneven seed-to-soil contact and soil density will change the way the soil dries out after planting.
