![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=21864&type=profile&rnd=304) Jackson County, AL | Deer damage is definitely worse for determinate beans in our experience. We haven't planted any for several years now for that reason alone. If deer weren't an issue we'd likely still be planting some mid to late 5's. If you replant I'm guessing they'll be indeterminate, which will help with the problem. Many times we replant to protect what we have left of the first planting more so than trying to harvest the full field. We shoot at least five nights a week, more at times and we're up against more deer in certain areas than in '22, less in others. Already replanted around 75 acres due to deer alone but hoping we can stop it there. We work pretty well with a couple other farmers to fight them together but trying to coordinate corn and bean rotations when possible helps a lot with that. |
