| We planted some soybeans April 24th, Broke ground around May 1. We got a good stand, things looked pretty good aside from very heavy deer pressure. Been shooting deer daily since. Today's the first rain we got since around May 10th. These beans came up, got to about the 2-4 true leaf stage, and then went all but dormant due to lack of water and the deer all but mowed them down to the ground. stems and 0-2 leaves left per plant, each pant is less than 4" tall.
My question: would we be better off with replanting these soybeans or letting them grow now that it's finally raining again and rain in the forecast moving forward? I've never grown determinate soybeans before and I'm worried they'll hit the fruiting stage before they have time to grow back? We did a population count, and we're well above threshold to save these beans.
Would a fresh start be better, or these soybeans that had a hard life with a pretty good root system?
