Subject: RE: Replanting with crop insurance

S Illinois
Your agent will start a claim as an adjuster has to sign off on what you do. If you intent to report those as planted corn acres to get those acres under your corn crop insurance guarantee , you will need to have an adjuster sign off on those acres as failed corn acres. You will receive no replant payment going from corn to beans.

Like was mentioned it is up to you how you want to treat the soybeans regarding crop insurance. Those acres can either be failed corn/uninsured beans or failed corn/insured beans. Most of the time uninsured beans is the way to go as any beans you are able to harvest are almost like a bonus. Insuring the beans planted after failed corn will decrease your corn coverage dollar amount contribution on those failed acres.

Edit: You should be able to get free replant soybean seed from you dealer if it’s one of the majors as they treat it as “replant” of the corn.
