Long time ago I replanted beans around this time frame after some hail and they yielded about 30 bpa.
Another year I planted soybeans on July 15 after tearing out some acres of strawberries. They also yielded about 30 bpa but that was a perfect fall. I harvested the soybeans after we were done with all our corn. Frost was very late that year. I can bale them wet and wrap them if need be. I believe soybeans have a high feed value as forage.

ETA: I’m going to plant something in there to keep weeds down. Soybeans seem to be the easiest option right now.
