Years ago I picked up some ground that was infested, bad. Was dry at harvest. Went in with a ripper and passed it. Waited two weeks. Ran it at a different angle. It stayed dry. Disked it. Let it set. Rowed it up later that fall. From that point on it was fine with pree at planting with only a handful of escapes.
