Subject: RE: Winter wheat in southern mn

I've got a small field of winter wheat this year as an experiment. Should be combining it in 2 to 3 weeks. This is in northeast Nebraska. Very few small grains grown here. I don't know of any other wheat anywhere close to me. The rotational benefit is going to have to be pretty significant for it to work.

Going to put in a cover crop afterward. We've had quite a bit of rain so if there was ever a time to try double crop beans this would be it, but our average first frost is between the 1st and 10th of October. Maybe others would say to try it, but I'm skeptical that they would have enough time to make much.
