New Salem ND | We are going to out yield our fertility here in NoDak and am looking at doing 10 gallons of 28% with 10 gallons of water sprayed on post anthesis to increase protein. Has anyone done this and is the leaf burn bad enough to decrease yield to the point the protein increase doesnt pay? Current protein spread is 8 cents per 1/5 above 14 pro. Local merchandisers believe it could get to 10 to 12 cents. We are looking at about an 80 bushel yield so hitting 15 protein would add $32. $18 for the 28% and figure $5 for machine cost and time(we own our self propelled sprayer). Any insight would be greatly appreciated! | |
