North Central KS | We have stored all our seed wheat 5+ gravity wagons every year for decades. We spray the wagon down with a liquid insecticide when it’s empty several days before harvest giving it a good coat to seal it. Then once filled with wheat we spray the top down with the same chemical. We have been using a four wheeler sprayer to do this, 5 gal of water and like 6oz of some pretty nasty insecticide and it works like a charm. I can’t remember the name of the insecticide off the top of my head. We store the wheat until October with zero issues. Wheat needs to be dry and stored in a relatively well sealed shed in my opinion to keep the raccoons and other pests out. | |
